Our Philosophy
In Japan, a year holds seventy-two seasons, not four — and color is never mere decoration, but a way of naming a precise moment in time. A single woodblock print carries both at once: the season it was made for, and the color that lets you feel it.
Today, only a handful of workshops in Japan still hold the full chain of hands a print requires — carving, printing, papermaking. Each one that closes takes an entire world of knowledge with it, quietly, and for good.
MOK Arts isn't preserving that knowledge behind glass. We're returning it to where it always belonged — the walls of the rooms you actually live in. A woodblock print was never meant to be rare. It was meant to be lived with.
